Our current education system has created furore among reformers in India. last two years we have bee witnessing positive reforms from the Central as well as State Governments. However, efforts are still not up to the expectations of Industry.
Our education system has several positive aspects but fails to provide right platform to the weaker and rural section of the society. This who has the power of money can get what they want. The Government, though, seemingly for the poorest of poor, is unknowingly willing to be more supportive to the richer section.
The reformers seems to have forgotten the Vision 2020 of Hon'ble Shri A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. While he was the President, everyone was willing to grab the pie while talking of Vision 2020. However, today this vision seems to be blur while standing on 2010...just 10 years from the target year. Ideally, this vision should have been given publicity and private players could have been invited for participating in this drive to help achieve the dream vision of a great visionary.
The Times of India initiative is really commendable. Its so heartening that some corporate has taken up the manttle on their shoulders rather than just talk about it. they are not only helping the beneficiaries, but are even inspiring right thinking citizens.
We all can contribute to the building of our nation even by inspiring our chaiwala or kaamwali bai to learn or help them to educate their children. Whats the point in bilding and developing for thse who already have. Why do we require buildings for schools? haven't our ancient history taught us that students were being sent to Gurukul in forests for 12 years? The surrounding of forest would give the right mindset to the students to study and become good human being.
